The Problem
A 42-inch water main with leaks to the section of pipe going through the wall that could not be accessed from the exterior. The location of the damage required an innovative repair approach that would allow access to the affected section while restoring the integrity of the pipe with minimal downtime.
The Solution
RAK Industrial Services created an access opening in the top of the pipe to allow technicians to enter the water main and reach the damaged section. The affected area was abrasive blasted, prepared, and rehabilitated from inside the pipe. Composite reinforcement and protective coatings were applied throughout the repair area, and the access opening was restored following completion of the work.
