Custom Clamp Installation for 90° Elbow Leak

RAK addressed a leak on the backside of a 90° elbow by removing insulation, stabilizing the area, and rapidly fabricating a custom-engineered clamp. Installed within 24 hours, the clamp fully sealed the leak with zero leakage after re-pressurization, allowing the system to remain operational without interruption.

The Problem

A leak was discovered at the backside of a 90° elbow under insulation. The line required immediate containment to prevent product loss and further deterioration. The geometry and condition of the elbow required a properly fitted enclosure designed specifically for that section.

The Solution

nsulation was removed, the leak was stabilized, and accurate measurements were taken for a custom engineered clamp. The clamp was fabricated and delivered in less than 24 hours. Larger competitors often get slowed down by multi-layered internal approval processes, but RAK avoids that bureaucracy—making us the fastest in the industry when emergency leak response is needed. Once delivered, the pipe was prepped and the clamp was installed to fully encapsulate the leaking area.
