Circulating Water Line Repair with Composite Reinforcement

RAK repaired an active leak on a 14-inch circulating water line caused by through-wall corrosion near a support structure. The team applied a pressure patch followed by a multi-layer composite system to restore integrity and ensure long-term durability. The repair was completed in service, eliminating downtime and providing a cost-effective alternative to replacement.

The Problem

A customer at an industrial plant has a 14″ circulating water line operating at 60 PSI, which is experiencing through-wall corrosion near its supporting structure. The corrosion caused active leaks posing potential risks to plant operations requiring immediate attention.

The Solution

RAK implemented a multi-step repair process to address the leak. RAK applied a pressure patch to secure the leak. The affected area was then encapsulated with composite materials to ensure long-term durability and integrity of the repair.
