The Problem
A secondary containment with tanks containing Zylene, Phenol, and 35-38% Hydrochloric Acid had experienced deteriorated concrete surfaces that required rehabilitation. Approximately 1,000 square feet of containment needed repairs and a protective system capable of withstanding exposure to the chemicals present in the area.
The Solution
Our team removed deteriorated concrete, formed and poured a special acid-resistant polymer concrete to repair and reestablish the grade of the containment. Tank supports, sump, and structural steel supports were all incorporated into the repair. A high-performance laminate reinforced coating system was applied to the walls and floors. Supports and grating were installed to complete the sump rehabilitation.
