Process Tank Leak Repair with Composite Reinforcement

RAK repaired multiple active leaks on a deteriorating process tank by sealing compromised areas, preparing the surface, and applying a fiberglass and carbon fiber composite system. A multi-layer coating created a durable, chemical-resistant barrier, restoring integrity and extending the tank’s service life without disrupting operations.

The Problem

A client identified multiple active leaks on a process tank, including several compromised areas across the shell and top section. The tank showed signs of wear and deterioration, with previous coating layers beginning to fail. Because the tank was critical to ongoing operations, a fast and durable repair was necessary to prevent downtime and avoid costly replacement.

The Solution

Our crew quickly mobilized to seal the leaks, sandblast the surface, and apply a fiberglass and carbon fiber composite system to restore the tank’s integrity. Multiple resin and topcoat layers were applied to create a chemical-resistant barrier and extend the tank’s service life. The repair was completed efficiently, minimizing disruption to operations and providing a long-term, maintenance-free solution.
