Full Pipe Composite Wrap and Live Leak Injection

RAK repaired a deteriorating section of process piping that had been temporarily contained with a clamp by removing the clamp, preparing the surface, and applying a full composite wrap system. The active leak was injected and sealed, restoring structural integrity and providing a long-term solution that eliminated downtime and extended the life of the pipe.

The Problem

A section of process piping developed a significant leak that had previously been contained with a clamp. While the clamp offered a temporary fix, the pipe showed further deterioration along its length, leaving several feet vulnerable to failure. To prevent unplanned downtime and ensure long-term reliability, a more permanent solution was needed.

The Solution

Our team mobilized early to the site, removed the existing clamp, and fully sandblasted the pipe to prepare the surface. A composite wrap system was applied from the clamp location to the far end of the pipe, with multiple layers of reinforcement to restore structural integrity. The active leak was injected and sealed, and the final wrap was coated to provide long-lasting protection. The comprehensive repair extended the service life of the piping system, eliminated reliance on temporary clamps, and offered the customer a cost-effective solution that avoided replacement and downtime.
